A simple gathering was convened at the Ministry Hall of the Philippine Bible Society (PBS) last November 25, 2009 
to celebrate its 110th Anniversary of Bible work in the Philippines. A thanksgiving service was held to commemorate the establishment of the Philippine Bible Society as the Bible depot in Manila by the
American Bible Society, through Rev. Jay C. Goodrich, in November 30, 1899. Bishop Nathanael Lazaro, who is the PBS President and Chairman, shared an inspiring message about the call for unity in challenging times to affirm and encourage the staff in their labor for God’s Word. It was an intimate observance among the PBS Board members, Management and staff that Wednesday morning over a breakfast buffet of sandwich and canapés.
of the 100 Ways to Live the Word—a collection of life testimonies of influential people from different sectors of the Philippine society that affirms the power of the Bible in transforming lives. Originally titled Bible Champions, the book took more than a year before it was published and was finally launched last November 25, 2009 at the PBS Ministry Hall. Perfectly coinciding with the PBS’ 110th Anniversary, the launch of the book confirms that the transformation of the nation begins with the transformation of ordinary lives dedicated to live the Word of God.
