In nearby De La Salle University, more than 200 students learned about how to use the Bible in Personal Devotions in a workshop led by May They Be One (MTBO) Committee member Dr. Philip Flores. The workshop, organized by the university’s Theology and Religious Education Department headed by Dr. Rito Baring, was held on March 26 at DLSU Taft. It was part of a Bible Symposium during which Episcopal Commission for the Biblical Apostolate Executive Assistant Fr. Oscar Alunday presented the MTBO challenge to the students. They found out that just by giving up one cup of Starbucks coffee or a McDonald’s sandwich a month – which has the approximate equivalent price of one MTBO Bible - a student can help bring the Bible to a poor Filipino family a month or to 12 families in a year.
