100 Ways to Live the Word Launching: A Celebration of God’s Word PDF Print E-mail
100 Ways to Live the Word Men and women from different sectors of society congregated at the PBS Ministry Facility in UN Avenue, Manila to support the launching of 100 Ways to Live the Word last November 25, 2009. In attendance were some of the influential movers in their respective fields such as Mr. Dan Cura, who was also the Master of Ceremony and the President of Far Eastern Broadcasting Corporation, Ms. Kata Inocencio of Christian Broadcasting Network Asia, Mrs. Flor Gozon-Tarriela, Chairperson of Philippine National Bank, Pastor Ed Lapiz of Day by Day Ministries, Dr. Luis Gatmaitan, a Palanca Awardee for his contributions in children literature, and Ms. Viel Aquino-Dee, who attended on behalf of her mother, Former President Corazon Aquino.

100 Ways to Live the Word is PBS’ first compilation of men and women who significantly contributed to their respective industries through applying God’s Word, the Holy Bible, in their lives. Their life testimonies serve as an inspiration and a testament to the transformative power of God’s Word not just in an individual’s life, but in a nation’s fate. These men and women are living proofs of God’s goodness and faithfulness to those who read and obey his Word. The Project Manager, Mrs. Flor Tarriela, stated in her opening remarks that God is able to do miracles that transcend the knowledge of men, and ultimately it is God’s Word that should be the main basis of all decision in life. PBS General Secretary, Mrs. Nora G. Lucero, further stated that the book is a celebration of the light that God’s Word brings to those who need it the most.

The “Bible Champions” were then asked to go onstage and receive their complimentary Viel Aquino-Dee for Mrs. Cory Aquinocopies of the book from the Project Manager and the PBS President of the Board of Trustees, Bishop Nathanael Lazaro. Mrs. Viel Aquino-Dee then spoke on behalf of President Cory Aquino. She said that when she talks about her mother, she couldn’t help but also talk about her father, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino. She said that although her mother was indeed very much a Bible reader, her father was perhaps more so, having to spend solitary confinement as a political prisoner. But in the end, what really mattered was her parents’ faith in God and in God’s Word that allowed them to pursue their destinies and change the course of this nation.

Overall, it was a successful event, filled with personal testimonies about the power of the Bible. Indeed, there is no facet of human life that the Bible does not illuminate. 100 Ways to Live the Word is currently available in major bookstores, and in the PBS BibleHouses in UN Avenue and Sta. Mesa. Everyone is encouraged to purchase their own copies now at the BibleHouses until December 15, 2009, to avail of the 30% discount. So from the original price of PhP 1000, the book is currently available for only PhP 700!

Let us continue to praise God for his Word that supports, encourages, loves, and gives hope!
