King James Version PDF Print E-mail
The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible which was first published in 1611 is still one of the best selling and most popular versions of the Bible today despite the fact that it is already almost 400 years old. Together with the Good News Bible, Contemporary English Version, and other English versions, KJV is still widely used by many Protestant believers, both in liturgical and devotional settings. Various reasons could be cited for this but perhaps foremost is the fact that its persistence is a tribute to the sound workmanship of the men who truly labored to produce the 1611 version. Notwithstanding the intrinsic value of the Bible itself, the conditions out of which the 47 translators worked as well as the translation process that was strictly followed are evidences of the excellence of the KJV.
