After 22 years of serving as National Director of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), Bishop Efraim Tendero passed the baton of leadership to Bishop Noel A. Pantoja, who was recently re-elected as Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Bible Society (PBS).
Bishop Pantoja was installed into office soon after the election of Bishop Tendero as the incoming World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) General Secretary and CEO. Bishop Tendero succeeded Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe, who served WEA for the past 10 years.
PCEC members and partners, including PBS General Secretary Dr. Nora G. Lucero, witnessed the installation of Bishop Pantoja and the commissioning of Bishop Tendero during a thanksgiving celebration that was held at the Christ’s Commission Fellowship Center last February 23.
Bishop Pantoja is presently on his second term as member of the Executive Committee of PBS Board. On the other hand, Bishop Tendero served as PBS President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1996 to 1997 and 1999 to 2000.
PBS rejoices with its partners in the ministry as they take higher grounds, opening up greater doors of opportunities to spread the Word of God. “We are blessed that these leaders are with the Bible Society. And, we continue to pledge our support to their ministries, leading the Evangelical Churches here in the Philippines and in the world,” Dr. Nora Lucero shared.
